¡Qué concierto tan impresionante!
For those who have no idea what that phrase means, it says “What an awesome concert!” and we’re referring to the Emir Sensini concert Wednesday at Laker High School. Students in Mrs. Segroves’ Spanish classes attended, and Spanish classes from Ubly, Vassar and Owendale-Gagetown schools made the trip for the event. Emir sang all of his songs in Spanish, and students joyously sang along. Emir, a seasoned pro at connecting with his adoring audiences, had students participate in a number of activities between songs, such as a soccer ball kicking contest, a dance competition and a Spanish tongue-twister challenge. A talented group of Laker dancers performed during one of the songs, as well. This is the second year for the Spanish concert, and Spanish teacher Stephanie Segroves would love to have it continue each year. The concert proves that even if you don’t understand a song because it’s in a language different from your own, you can still really enjoy the music and have a phenomenal time!
