In October, Laker Elementary hosted SOCKtober,and the original goal was for students to bring in 1,000 pairs of new socks to donate to local shelters and students in need.This goal was met in the first week.Then,the goal was increased to 2,000 pairs.Students met this new goal with no problem. As a reward, Mrs.VerBurg greeted students one morning at the end of October in a unique fashion.
