On Tuesday, Dec. 6, Laker Elementary students walked into school and saw their lockers wrapped up in Christmas wrapping paper. Their classroom doors also were wrapped. No, it wasn’t done by an Elf on the Shelf – it was done by teachers and parents! The locker wrapping was a fundraiser project by the Laker Elementary PTOC.
“This is the second year the PTOC has done this fundraiser,” said Melissa Parrish, Laker Elementary PTOC president. “We wrapped – drum roll – 437 lockers and 45 staff doors. It took us just under 2 hours.”
She noted that volleyball players also helped with the wrapping.
“(The PTOC) would like to thank everyone for their support and to those who donated to bring us to our goal of having every student’s locker wrapped,” Parrish said. Also, we would gladly accept donations of wrapping paper and tape for next year’s project. I will take those donations anytime between now and next year.”
