On March 1, the Laker Varsity Girls Basketball team and coaches Jessica Bruce and Beth Damm met with Aimee Minard, corporate relations officer with Covenant Health Care, and presented a big check for just over $1,000 to benefit Covenant Kids. The Varsity and JV girls basketball teams raised a total of $1,883 by selling Covenant Kids t-shirts, inviting 3rd-5th grade girls teams to purchase shirts and play during JV/Varsity games and an elementary assembly, and hosting 50/50 raffles and giving people an opportunity to take half-court shots at games (once they gave a donation). Part of the money raised was used to purchase wish list items from Covenant Kids and assemble “Fun Packs” for different age groups. Here are some photos from today’s presentation. Great job, ladies! Very impressive!
