Congratulations to these amazing Laker athletes! Laker gymnasts Faith Hooper and Grace Suggitt recently competed at regionals, and they both did very well. Grace qualified for state competition! Awesome job, ladies! In powerlifting, five Laker varsity powerlifters qualified for the state varsity competition, and four of them received medals for placing in the state’s top 10 in their division. Awesome job! Here are the details: -Lexie Smithers – 8th place – Total weight lifted: 700 pounds -Grace McArdle – 7th place – 690 pounds total -James McArdle – 7th place – 1,245 pounds total -Lizzy McArdle – 5th place – 640 pounds total -Alexis Gilbert – 13th place – 490 pounds total In addition, freshman Anna Brooks qualified for the JV state powerlifting meet (she wasn’t able to attend the competition, however, due to an injury).
