The Laker Middle School Student Council hosted a food drive in October, and the goal was to reach 1,000 items. They exceeded the goal by bringing in 1,068 items. The items were donated to Pigeon and Elkton food pantries. During the food drive, middle schoolers received various prizes for hitting specific donation goals. For instance, at 250 items, middle school students had a free popcorn day. At 400 items, middle school students could have an extra day at the Legacy Center during homeroom. The top prize is a trip to see a movie at the Bad Axe Theater, so that trip will be coming up later in November. Laker Middle School would like to thank all who donated to this food drive.
