To honor Veteran’s Day, Laker High School students spent most of their half-day on Nov. 9 doing a new activity – a Recon Mission that involved 10 activity stations around the school. All the activities revolved around veterans and/or the military. Each station included puzzles to be solved and points to be earned, Students (grouped based on their second-hour classes) moved from station to station about every 10 minutes. Every group came up with a name for itself. The group that received the most points was the Purple Paratroopers (pictured below), and they were treated to a breakfast treat of French toast and sausage. The Recon Mission was developed by teacher Ami Park. The plan is to make this a regular event.
