This year on Nov. 7, Laker High School will be bringing back its “Recon Mission” scavenger hunt to celebrate Veteran’s Day. The event debuted in 2023, and the goals of the event are to engage students in an interactive and educational experience and help them gain a deeper appreciation for the service and sacrifice of our veterans. This year, we would love to enhance the experience by involving veterans directly in the event. If you know any veterans—whether they are family members, friends, or community members—who might be interested in participating, we would be thrilled to have them join us. Their presence would add tremendous value, allowing students to hear firsthand accounts, ask questions, and build connections with those who have served.
We are looking for veterans who can help with various aspects of the activity, such as:
-Sharing their experiences and answering students’ questions.
-Helping to guide or supervise the scavenger hunt.
-Participating in a small panel discussion or informal meet-and-greet.
