The Laker FIRST Robotics team continues to achieve impressive feats! During the weekend of Sept. 7-8, the female members of the team competed at the Goonettes Invitational, an all-girl competition. Lakers won the day one event and competed well against the final bracket. Lakers beat the number 3 ranked alliance in round one, lost to the number 2 team, and then to the number one. Overall, the team had a great weekend and beat its alliance partners from the Big Bang competition (from earlier in the year). The team even competed over the summer, traveling to Mansfield, Ohio, and Troy and Dundee, Michigan. In Ohio, Lakers ranked number 5 after a tough fight through the qualification matches and performed well in the finals. In Troy for the Big Bang event, Lakers won the competition! At the Dundee event, Lakers ranked 7th after qualification rounds. In the final matches, Lakers won two and lost two. All in all, it’s been a great year for the Laker team and they’re looking forward to what’s coming in 2025!
