Laker High School is pleased to announce the Class of 2025 co-valedictorians, salutatorian, and top honor students. Caroline G. McNabb and Cade C. Truemner have earned Valedictorian honors with a GPA of 4.354. Abigail R. LeVasseur has earned Salutatorian honors with a GPA of 4.350.
Valedictorian Caroline G. McNabb is the daughter of Brooke Bloomfield of Sebewaing, and Darin McNabb of Pigeon. Caroline has maintained a spot on the “All-A” Honor Roll all four years of school, and has been a member of the National Honor Society since 10th grade. Caroline is dual enrolled at Mid-Michigan Community College via the Huron Area Technical Center, where she has won an award for Best Speech at a student showcase. Caroline is the senior class of 2025 president, and has been a student council member all four years of high school. She also holds leadership positions in FFA as the Region III FFA president and Laker FFA chapter vice president. She has competed in Parliamentary Procedure and Agricultural Issues up to the regional level, Floriculture at the state level, and Agricultural Communications at the national level. She received a Silver State Degree, awarded to the top 10% of FFA members, and showed a goat and will show sheep at the Huron Community Fair. Caroline has played basketball for years as a 1 year member of JV, and 3 year member of varsity, where she held the titles of team captain and First-Team All-Conference player. She is also an active member of the Laker Theatre company, playing roles such as Katherine Howard in SIX, Rusty in Footloose, and Tanya in Mamma Mia! as well as choreographing for musicals and writing multiple plays. In addition to theatre, Caroline was a member of the Laker Band for seven years as first chair clarinet. Caroline is also a member of the Laker Science Olympiad team where she competes in Anatomy and Physiology, Microbe Mission, and Disease Detectives. Caroline was also voted the 2024 Homecoming Queen. She has earned over 100 hours of community service throughout her years in high school. Outside of school, Caroline has had summer jobs and attends both Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing and Salem Methodist Church in Pigeon. In the fall, Caroline will attend Michigan State University’s Lyman Briggs and Honors College as a Human Biology major, and work in research as a Professorial Assistant. She hopes to eventually go to Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine to become a physician.
Valedictorian Cade Truemner is the son of Kendal and Rose Truemner of Pigeon. Cade has received All-A Honor Roll status for all four high school years. He is currently a Dual-Enrolled student at Mid-Michigan Community College through the Huron Area Tech Center. Cade was placed on the Scholar’s List in both semesters of his Junior year and received a spot on the President’s List this past semester. He has also been an active member of his community, as part of the National Honor Society. He has volunteered with many groups like the Thumb Breadbasket, Laker PTOC, and Laker FFA Chapter. This past year, Cade has also been involved with Laker Rotary Interact and Science Olympiad. He has also been an active participant in the Laker FFA Chapter, earning State Greenhand and Outstanding Junior Degrees. He was a state finalist in Junior High Conduct of Meetings and Greenhand Conduct of Meetings and won first in the state in Soil Judging. Cade has been a three-sport athlete every year of high school, participating in Cross-Country, Basketball, and Track & Field. In his four years, he has been awarded First-Team All-Conference three times in Cross-Country and Academic All-State three times in Cross-Country and Track & Field. Cade plans to attend Michigan State University this fall to study Human Biology on the Pre-Medicine path.
Salutatorian Abigail LeVasseur is the daughter of David and Nicole LeVasseur of Bad Axe. She has maintained “All-A” Honor Roll status for all four years of high school. Abigail has been enrolled in the Mid Michigan College Dual Enrollment program at the Huron Area Technical Center for her junior and senior years, where she has maintained a spot on the Scholar’s List for all four semesters. Outside of her academics, Abigail is involved in many extracurricular activities, such as Varsity Soccer for all four years of high school. She was named captain her senior year. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, FFA and the Laker Leadership Council. In the Agricultural Communications skills competition, she placed first individually and second with her team. Abigail currently serves as the Secretary of both the Rotary Interact club and the Student Council in which she organizes fundraisers and serves her class and community. She is also a member of the Science Olympiad in which she placed second in the wind power event, and fourth in anatomy and physiology at the Frankenmuth Invitational. Outside of school, she volunteers in the children’s church and nursery at First Baptist Church in Bad Axe. Abigail plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University this fall to study Biological Science.

Audrey is the daughter of Brooke Bloomfield of Sebewaing and Darin McNabb of Pigeon. Dylan M. Braun with a GPA of 4.303. Dylan is the son of Edward and Kelli Braun of Pigeon. Lily J. McNabb with a GPA of 4.261. Lily is the daughter of Brooke Bloomfield of Sebewaing and Darin McNabb of Pigeon. Kate A. Hill with a GPA of 4.245. Kate is the daughter of Marc and Michelle Hill of Pigeon. Megan E. Strieter with a GPA of 4.243. Megan is the daughter of Mike and Lesley Strieter of Bay Port. Faith C. Suggitt with a GPA of 4.187. Faith is the daughter of Chris and Kristen Suggitt of Pigeon.
