Laker community members, parents and staff gathered for a special event Nov. 25 – the Night of Thanks. The event celebrated the closing out of Phase I of the Next Generation Bond Project. While there was plenty to see, people spent most of their time in the impressive Innovation Center, which is where the former ag room and woodshop used to be. Those who witnessed this new skilled trades area would agree it is an amazing place where awesome learning opportunities will take place. The evening also included a video presentation and a ribbon cutting ceremony in the dazzling new auditorium. Those who attended were able to get a special T-shirt made in the Innovation Center with the help of students from the AMPED class. Other renovated areas open for viewing included the ag room, weight room (which still has some work to be done) and locker rooms (which are simply gorgeous).
