Laker Elementary second and fourth graders participated in an Exercise and Healthy Foods Joke/Jingle Writing Contest, which is hosted by the Healthy Living in the Thumb program. Students could either write a short jingle or a joke about nutrition and physical exercise, and each classroom voted on the best for each category. Congratulations to second-grader Mya Buchholz, fourth-grader Liam Dietlein and fourth-grader Kyree Lewis for being named the winners!
2nd-grader Mya’s jokes:
Nutritional joke – Did you hear about the race between the lettuce and tomato? The lettuce was a-head and the tomato had to Ketchup!
Physical Activity joke – What is the cow’s favorite exercise? Calf raises!
4th-grader Liam’s nutrition joke – Why did the grape stop in the middle of the road? Because it ran out of juice!
4th-grader Kyree’s physical activity jingle – Make it a habit to move like a rabbit! Have some fun, go on a run!
